EDGE solves a persistent but under-designed workstation problem: power access is typically placed on the floor or hidden under desks. This creates daily inconvenience and safety risks—bending or kneeling to plug in, accidental head bumps, tripping and snagging, cable tension from chair movement, and unnecessary exposure of electrical parts to spills and cleaning water. As modern desks rely on multiple chargers and peripherals, the conventional floor power strip becomes inefficient, cluttered, and risk-prone.
EDGE reframes the power strip as a desk-edge energy interface, relocating outlets to the point of use—where hands naturally reach during work. It is built around an “add power anywhere” idea: instead of committing to one fixed location, users can place power exactly where it feels most convenient, and reposition it as their setup changes.
A key innovation is an over-center self-locking hinged clamp. During closure, the mechanism passes a neutral point (dead center) and locks geometrically, making the mount less likely to loosen under plug/unplug cycles, cable pull, and minor bumps. Extended upper and lower contact members increase the clamping span to improve anti-rotation stability and reduce wobble. The system installs tool-free and accommodates a range of desktop thicknesses for fast deployment in home and office environments.
EDGE uses a dual-sided, eight-outlet layout: four outlets on the top for high-frequency access, and four underneath for chargers and “set-and-forget” connections. This separation supports cleaner routing and reduces visual clutter.
By elevating power away from the floor, EDGE reduces exposure to liquids, accidental stepping, and cable drag. A modular segmented body helps distribute structural stress for durability and enables flexible placement to match different workstation layouts. Overall, EDGE turns a passive accessory into a safer, more efficient, and more intuitive desk-native power experience.
