Moonlight Shines Through the Pines: A Chinese Banquet Design

This wedding design embodies Eastern aesthetics and Jiangnan charm, drawing from Tang-Song garden culture and Wang Wei's poem "Autumn Evening in the Mountains." Blending the poet's "Moonlight Shines Through the Pines, Clear Springs Flow Over Stones" with Chinese wedding romance, it turns poetic tranquility into a tangible scene, letting love settle in "natural Zen-inspired blank space"—the design's essence.

Inspired by the couple's names ("bright moon" and "pine"), the circular stage symbolizes wholeness. Suspended orange-red pine branches and a full moon create a "pines-moon interplay": the moon represents pure, enduring companionship, while pines signify the couple’s unwavering, evergreen bond.

The winding runway mimics a mountain spring, lined with scattered white pebbles, gray stones, and moss—echoing "clear springs over stones" to hint at a gentle, smooth married life. Rejecting ornate decor, the design focuses on core elements: stones, pines, moon, and flowers. Through balanced warm-cool hues and rigid-soft forms, it recreates Jiangnan's elegance while interpreting Chinese weddings’'cultural core—subtle profound affection and a fulfilled, lasting union.
