As the number of people with sensitive skin continues to grow, consumers now pay more attention to the safety and comfort of close-to-skin clothing. In response to this trend, EMBRY has launched the Sensitive Comfort Series, featuring a full range of products for men, women, and children, including loungewear, undershirts, vests, and underwear. Embracing eco-friendly principles and using advanced technologies, the series offers a new solution for people with sensitive skin.
Embracing sustainability across its full lifecycle, the product series innovatively uses renewable plant-based polylactic acid (PLA) as its core material. Sourced from plants such as corn and cassava, PLA not only supports a low-carbon, energy-efficient production process but also naturally biodegrades at the end of its lifecycle, forming a sustainable closed-loop. Thanks to PLA’s naturally mild acidity, the fabric maintains a pH between 5.0 and 6.5, close to that of healthy skin. This helps inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria, reduce moisture loss, and protect the skin’s natural barrier.
To bring PLA fabrics from concept to production, EMBRY (CHINA) GARMENTS LTD. collaborated with Huafon Chemical Co., Ltd to develop 115–135 °C low-temperature spandex, a specially engineered fiber that can be shaped at lower temperatures without damaging PLA, overcoming the industry challenge of PLA’s sensitivity to high temperatures and difficulty in shaping. Thanks to the spandex’s excellent low-temperature adaptability, production processes can be carried out within PLA’s tolerable temperature range, preserving PLA’s natural antibacterial and anti-mite properties while providing the elasticity and shape retention required for high-quality garments. The fabric is crafted using a jacquard mesh technique. Its unique micro-mesh structure functions like countless tiny ventilation ports, offering exceptional moisture-wicking performance and breathability to keep the wearer dry and comfortable.
