The Lady and the Knight

“The Lady and the Knight” is an exploration of one self. Despite the traditional classification of so-called “masculinity” and “femininity”, the designer believes that every person embodies partial traits from both sides, if not more that went uncategorized and unnoticed. These elements combined makes one person.
To express this idea, this project incorporates aspects from both womenswear and menswear from the 1920s, and pick from them elements that are emphasized or favored, such as the padded shoulders and square built from the suit jacket, the soft color and the flowy skirts from the dresses.
The result is a collection of two looks with a more solemn suit jacket on top, and light colored, loose waisted dress inside. Both garments are loose waisted in order to confirm with more body shapes and sizes, and they are, in general, smart yet able to blend into most everyday occasions. To facilitate everyday use, pockets are implemented into side of skirts, side of jackets, and a large pocket at the chest for the pink dress as well as leather implemented sturdy pockets under its skirt layers. This small collection aims to express oneself in daily life while facilitating everyday acts.
