Within the Gaze is a series of illustrations that explores the pervasive surveillance environment of contemporary society. My research investigates how the act of "peeping"—stemming from ubiquitous public cameras and the implicit, everyday gaze of the "Other"—erodes personal freedom and triggers profound anxiety. Through visual techniques such as fisheye distortion, personified watching eyes, and surreal imagery, the work illustrates how external social control is internalized by individuals, transforming into continuous psychological pressure and self-discipline. These dreamlike yet unsettling images serve as a visual metaphor for power imbalances and behavioral constraints, ultimately revealing the alienation and transformation of human perception under the weight of an invisible gaze.
