Positioned as a new international reception hub, the project responds to Hainan's vision of becoming a global Free Trade Port by creating a contemporary living environment that integrates ecological sustainability, cultural identity and international urban quality. Conceived as a park-style community, the masterplan organizes interconnected themed gardens and landscape corridors into a cohesive spatial framework, encouraging healthy lifestyles while fostering interaction among residents of all ages.
The architectural language is inspired by Hainan's iconic coconut palms, transforming their graceful vertical rhythm into elegant façade lines that blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. Green spaces, public amenities and architectural forms are carefully integrated to establish a harmonious relationship between nature and urban living, creating a community that reflects both regional character and contemporary sophistication.
Drawing inspiration from the Qiongzhou Strait and the Nandu River, the design interprets Hainan's geographical and cultural identity through a rich spatial narrative. The meeting of the sea and river symbolizes openness, vitality and cultural exchange, reflecting the island's transformation from a historic fishing settlement into an international gateway. Themes such as setting sail, flowing tides, schools of fish, sea breezes and safe harbors are translated into spatial sequences, landscape compositions and artistic installations, creating an immersive experience that celebrates the spirit of the ocean while expressing the rhythm of local life.
Guided by the principles of understated luxury, humanistic art and ecological integration, the project redefines the traditional residential community as a new urban living room that combines residential functions with cultural, artistic and social value. Rather than relying on decorative excess, it creates a refined living environment through restrained materials, fluid spatial organization and strong connections with nature.
Despite challenging typhoon conditions during construction, careful coordination and repeated on-site refinement ensured the successful realization of key artistic features, allowing the completed environment to faithfully embody the project's original design vision while delivering a distinctive contemporary expression rooted in Hainan's unique landscape and culture.
