Transforming professional passion and personal memories into everyday scenery, the home becomes more than a place of rest—it becomes a sensory journey, a flight of imagination.

This project is located in an urban residential district and serves as a personalised residence for an aviation professional. From the very beginning, the design team centred the concept around two key themes: aviation and wabi-sabi aesthetics. Every element, from material choices to spatial composition, was developed to evoke a sense of transparency, weightlessness, and ritual. Upon entering the foyer, the eye is drawn to the floor finished with special coatings reminiscent of an airport runway. Linear light strips and mirrored surfaces mimic the movement of aircraft cabins, turning the everyday act of coming and going into an intercontinental departure experience.

The interior layout follows a 2+1 bedroom configuration, with an expanded living area that integrates versatile storage functions. In the public space, the main TV wall features a rotating, built-in storage system that adapts to various living scenarios. Nearby, the dining area replaces the traditional table with a multifunctional island. Its stone-clad façade and segmented lines subtly evoke the image of an airplane wing, echoing both the precision of aircraft engineering and the refined aesthetic sensibility of the space.

Faced with a massive structural beam spanning across the living room window, the designer chose not to conceal it with conventional methods, but to transform it into a design highlight. A graceful curve extends from the ceiling, linking to a glass opening in the side wall, creating a cocoon-like, cave-inspired sense of enclosure and a subtle sense of voyeurism. This structural beam thus becomes a clever spatial mediator, connecting the living room to the dressing area and subtly delineating zones with layered depth.

Continuing the aviation theme, the master bedroom adopts a palette of warm beiges and wood finishes, paired with soft curves to shape a gentle and ethereal atmosphere. Above, the ceiling lighting simulates a vast starry sky, capturing the magnificence of night flights and preserving them quietly within the room.
