SHIFT-GEAR is an adaptive shell system that addresses the issue of movement friction in urban life through 4-in-1 tech integration. With the increase of density in cities and the fragmentation of daily routines, active urban individuals find themselves constantly transitioning between work, movement, rest, and low-visibility conditions. Most current solutions rely on multiple separate items, resulting in reduced convenience, carrying the burden of more clothes, limited mobility, and compromising everyday wearability.
SHIFT-GEAR is an innovative single adaptive shell garment that integrates protection, mobility, storage, and safety in a modular fashion.The heart of the system is a modular 4-in-1 setup that can be utilized in various modes such as lightweight commuting, full-utility urban wear, thermal comfort for evening movement, and a fully transformable bag mode. The shell is constructed using 3-ply SWB-Tex fabric, which incorporates a PTFE membrane for waterproof, wind-resistant, and breathable performance that has been designed for active urban conditions. A removable insulated vest filled with PrimaLoft® Gold provides direct core heat without the need for extra layers which means heat can be easily regulated and the temperature can be adjusted.
Ergonomic seam lines that enhance movement recognition are used to punctuate the human figure in night environments with reflective and luminescent details made of 3M™ Scotchlite™ piping from all directions.
To ensure the safety of the user, the low-power GPS module is integrated as a discreet safety support system that does not interrupt the garment's shape, movement or visual identity. In particular, this is the case for a solo urban user.
