There is a quiet shift that happens when one returns home. Light softens, movement slows, and the outside world gradually recedes. Silhouette was conceived around this transition. Located on the 28th floor of a residential tower in Kaohsiung, the apartment receives consistent natural daylight, which becomes the emotional foundation of the interior rather than a visual statement.

The spatial sequence begins with a slightly dimmed entrance corridor framed in walnut tones. This moment of compression prepares the transition into the brighter living and dining area beyond. At the center of the layout, the dining table is positioned along all primary circulation paths. Movement between bedrooms, kitchen, and living room naturally passes through this point, reinforcing daily interaction as the core of domestic life.

An open study behind the sofa preserves visual continuity with the full-height glazing while maintaining subtle separation. Instead of rigid partitions, alignment and depth define spatial boundaries. The design favors connection without sacrificing privacy.

Material selection balances restraint with tactility. Italian mineral-based coatings define feature walls for durability and texture. Walnut cabinetry introduces warmth and extends the perceived length of the space, visually unifying the living and dining areas. Natural stone flooring in public zones enhances reflectivity while ensuring longevity.

Lighting is treated as emotional structure rather than decoration. Linear fixtures articulate transitions and layers, while warm 3000K tones create comfort and calm. In private areas, indirect and zoned lighting avoids glare and supports rest. Curved elements, including the dining pendant and master bedroom headboard wall, soften the linear framework and integrate functional details discreetly.

Silhouette does not rely on excess. It provides a composed interior where light, material, and daily rituals gradually define the space—allowing everyday life to leave its trace in quiet shadow.
