House of Warmth and Fragrance

This project involves the planning of a single-story residence for seniors, with an interior area of approximately 89 square meters.
Amidst warm wood tones and soft, diffused lighting, Japanese and Nordic design elements intertwine. Layered elements of white, beige, and wood hues create a sweet atmosphere that is perceptible yet transcends mere olfactory reliance—
much like a freshly baked croissant: crisp on the outside, soft within, exuding life's most authentic sweetness.

The entryway flow is deliberately confined to a quiet corner, evoking the serene moment before approaching a wood-fired oven. Soft light filters through frosted glass panels, reminiscent of the gentle glow from a bakery's hearth. Entering the communal area, the formerly enclosed study partition is replaced with a half-wall design, opening up the space. The TV feature wall employs mineral paint with delicate textures, harmonizing with the home's primary wall color “Countryside” and mocha-beige wooden cabinet doors to add enduring visual depth.

To overcome height limitations in the older home, a single curved molding cleverly conceals the large beam spanning the room. Combined with recessed ceiling lighting, it visually elevates the space. Embracing the refined “less is more” design philosophy, the remaining beams and columns retain their original appearance, transforming structural integrity into an integral part of the living environment.

The private quarters extend the public area's color palette, featuring expansive cabinetry with light lines and black circular handles. The bathroom incorporates a light wood-grain vanity to convey warmth, echoing the home's minimalist and serene visual tone.
