Platinum Refraction

Platinum Refraction is a 327-square-meter residence located along the Keelung River in Taipei. The design focuses on creating an interior refinement that harmonizes with the expansive riverfront vista. Rather than overt ornamentation, the design adopts a modern French vocabulary of "white with subtle gold accents". Through precise control of proportion and material layering, visual focus is naturally drawn to stone textures and metallic details, striking a balance between elegance and composure.

The distinctiveness of this project lies in the consistent orchestration of the entire space. Within this large-scale residence, the designer deliberately avoids excessive layering. Instead, ceiling frameworks, curved geometries, and semi-permeable screens connect the foyer, piano salon, and living area, maintaining visual and circulatory continuity. Luxury is translated into an orderly environment suited for everyday living—a bespoke stage of life crafted from the homeowner’s perspective. This project returns to the value of long-term use, prioritizing durability and low-emission materials to ensure sustainability. By harmonizing interior grace with the dynamic cityscape, Platinum Refraction stands as a vessel for sophisticated living and emotional resonance.
