Located in Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province, this exhibition hall harnesses technological innovation to reveal a new chapter in the power industry. Emphasizing new power systems, it exhibits cutting-edge technologies such as source-grid-load-storage coordination and wind-solar-storage integration, showcasing practice of low-carbon transformation and future of energy.
Driven by the needs of energy transition and inspired by Zhangbei National Wind and Solar Energy Storage and Transmission Demonstration Project, the exhibition hall, aimed at scientific education and technological exchange, integrates digital presentation methods to create an immersive interactive space, suitable for various scenarios like industry promotion, public science popularization, and international communication. It contributes to the spread of energy transition concepts and the demonstration of advanced energy technologies, establishing itself as a ‘national card’ in China’s new energy sector.
Taking ‘immersive experience + systematic presentation’ as the design philosophy, the exhibition hall employs fluid curves to shape a circular visitor flow, with a color scheme of green (environmental friendliness) and white (minimalism) running through the whole space. Meanwhile, the landscape of Zhangbei Bashang and the silver lines from wind and solar power installations as well as power grids are seamlessly integrated into the exhibition walls. At the heart of the hall lies an elliptical comprehensive demonstration sand table (7 m in major axis and 4.5 m in minor axis), above which is a specially designed circular suspended LED screen. The combination of a physical model and a digital twin vividly illustrates the panorama of new power systems in Zhangbei and its surrounding areas, serving as the visual focus of the exhibition all. Moreover, the sand table naturally connects distributed display modules, blending a high-tech aesthetic with a logical knowledge structure. This transforms visitors from passive observers into active explorers, creating an experience field that fosters a ‘panoramic + deep’ understanding of new power systems.
