The project is a 99 99-square-meter holiday home for a family of four. The homeowners sought a relaxed rhythm as a contrast to their urban routine. The designer named the project “vive la vie,” a French phrase meaning “live life,” to reflect the value of everyday rituals. French elegance is used as the aesthetic foundation, while natural light and detailed craftsmanship are integrated to create a space that is both simple and functional. Romance, in this context, is not a superficial gesture but something that quietly permeates the residents’ experience through everyday interactions.
The romance of life is hidden in the details of use and the flow of light and shadow. The most representative design elements are the patterned tiles used on the kitchen island and TV wall. Their matching textures offer a pleasant visual surprise, softly linking movement and function. Behind the bookcase area, a pink-gold metallic melamine board adds a soothing sparkle when touched by light, capturing the essence of work-life integration.
Next to the refrigerator, an appliance cabinet was designed to gently wrap around an existing beam and refrigerant pipes, cleverly hiding structural elements while creating a smooth flow through the space. The kitchen island serves as a hub for gatherings with family and friends. With its refined functions and patterned tiles echoing the TV wall, every chat or drink shared here feels effortless and cozy.
