This project, tailored for KOHO, ingeniously integrates office and exhibition functionalities, while also seamlessly blending natural elements with Italian aesthetics. It not only meets practical needs, but also profoundly embodies the brand’s rich cultural connotations and distinctive artistic pursuit.
Drawing inspiration from nature, the project takes “water, circle, arc” as the core to infuse the space with a dynamic sense and Italian elegance.
The crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling, resembling water pouring down from the sky, gives a strong visual impact and brings to mind pure, harmonious nature. The elements of “circle” and “arc” run through the entire project, including walls, ceilings, and furniture pieces. These fluid, soft curves contribute to an inclusive, warm atmosphere.
The design team, breaking the original conventional framework, has redesigned the building’s circulation to create a more open space with smoother transitions. A spiral staircase shapes like a flowing ribbon, which gracefully ascends to serve as an artistic link between different floors. The walls are blank in large areas, complemented by the extensive application of geometric forms, adding a pure and simple aesthetic. The exhibition area perfectly marries artistic elegance with practicality. The Seat Museum & Seat Research Institute showcases KOHO’s prowess in furniture design, and provides an environment for immersive research and innovation. Meanwhile, the office area cleverly combines open and enclosed zones for an effective circulation design and an inclusive atmosphere. It not only enhances man-man/man-space interaction, but also offers employees a fair, healthy, and sustainable work environment.
