High inclusivity in a city often accompanies rapid development; Beijing is a prime example of this. It embraces everything, meeting the top-tier demands that contemporary youth yearn for. However, after striving hard, take a moment to reflect—what is it that you truly need?
“A minor hermit hides in the wilderness, while a major hermit hides in the city”
Is there truly a boundary between the “wild” and the “city”?
Under the canopy of the metropolis, everything seems to have nowhere to hide.
How far must one escape to truly be in seclusion?
There are no truly deserted wildernesses, nor are there bustling cities that are never silent. The retreat into space has no end, and the distance cannot be clearly defined. The space we inhabit is a superimposition of various scenes, making escape unnecessary and impossible.
Guoyu Chaohua is adjacent to Chaoyang District, close to urban parks, sports parks, the Wenyu River, and riverside forest parks. It also connects with the Beijing Half Marathon route, offering strong external connectivity to natural spaces. In a location adjacent to bustling urban life yet hidden in seclusion, this project focuses on the harmonious coexistence of seclusion and residence.
